So many changes

A few things have happen since my last post 2 weeks ago. Carter can now roll all over the place. He also just had his first tooth break through this last Satruday! WOHOO!! We had a few bad days in the process of it all, but he mostly handled it great. And for now he is back to his happy little self.

He can kind of sit up on his own. He still tips over from time to time, but he's pretty much got it. He LOVES to watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on TV (which is what he is sitting there watching).

Carter and I were both sick with I think the flu this last week. It was not a pretty sight at my house. And yes, this is Carter laying in his own puke with a big grin on his face.

Nick and I are SO excited to celebrate our first Christmas with Carter and start our own family traditions. The first tradition we are starting is opening our Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve. Nick and I both had that tradition growing up. Carter did get to go and sit on Santa's lap. He was not too sure why he was there sitting on Santa's lap having his parents look like fools trying to get him to smile, but this is the best we got.



5 Months

My baby boy is growing up way too fast! He is still working on being able to roll from his back to his tummy but is a champ at rolling from his tummy to his back. He is so close to being able to sit up on his own. He is an awesome little eater. He loves bananas, pears, applesauce and sweet potatoes, but he HATES peas. He sleeps 10+ hours a night. He loves watching sports with his daddy and cuddling with his mommy. He grabs onto everything he can reach now. He is such a happy baby and is such a joy to have around.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and we had SO much to be thankful for this year. It was Carter's first thanksgiving, he got to enjoy some sweet potatoes and a little mashed potatoes. We ate at Nick's grandparents house for lunch and then later went to the Hawkes to visit my family. Some of the many things I am grateful for is a husband who loves me unconditionally, a happy and healthy son (who is growing up too fast), wonderful parents who help us out immensely and I am very grateful for a job to help support my family. We are very blessed.

We had family pictures taken in October. Hanna Roberts was the fabulous photographer who took them. She also took Carter's newborn photos. Carter was not in the happiest of moods that day, which makes things stressful. But I think they turned out cute.

Too ghoul for school

Happy Halloween!!! Carter was the cutest dragon ever! For work, I dressed up as a biker chick. After work we went and visited grandparents. We decided it would be a cute picture to put candy all around Carter. Well...he grabbed a twizzlers and started sucking on it, before we knew it, he had it opened!

Carving pumpkins

We carved our pumpkins today after church. I did Frankenstein and Carter (Nick carved) did mickey mouse.

As of October 18th, Carter can roll over from his tummy to his back.

He is growing up SO fast! He is also discovering his voice, he's always squeeling now. I love it!

Picking Our Pumpkins

We went to Day Farms (Nick's grandpas farm) to pick out our pumpkins for halloween. It was so much fun to pick out pumpkins as a little family. It will be a great tradition for our family.

Carter's Blessing Day

Carter was blessed September 9, 2012. It was such a wonderful day. We had so much support from our families. Both of our families are so big, we only had Nick, our dads, grandpas and brothers go up for the actual blessing. We then went to Barnes Park afterwords for some lunch.

Carter Nicholas Hafen

Carter was born July 3, 2012 at 6:25 pm. He weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long. He is as cute as can be! It's amazing how fast they melt your heart. You could say I am obsessed with him.
 I started my "new" job in Salt Lake July 2nd. That night around 8 o'clock I started having contractions while at my parents house. I stayed there counting contractions until about 11:30 pm. I left to meet Nick at home. I told him how I thought this was the real deal. He then told me that it sounded like false labor...little did he know. I got a total of about 2 hours of sleep that night, not being able to sleep through the contractions. From 3:00 am on they were about 10 minutes apart. That morning, Nick got up about 7:30. I told him I was still having contractions but that they weren't getting closer together. I went and hopped in the shower and let the hot water run on my lower back. THAT put them right at 4-7 minutes apart and they were painful! We ate breakfast and headed to the hospital around 10:00 am. When we got there, they checked me and I was dialated to 5cm. (My biggest fear was getting sent home) We kept in contact with parents throughout the process. That night the parents came to visit. They weren't able to hold Carter that night due to me having a slight fever right before delivery. I however got to hold him late that night, and I was in LOVE!

A BABY???

We found out I was pregnant October 22, 2011. Boy were we shocked! We were not planning on having a baby so soon, but as it sunk in, we were ecstatic!
